Many Americans have been tamed into accepting the current failing two party political system as it is…
…Tamed into believing that the political construct we have now is just what government looks like in America, and it’s the best we are going to get.
In response, we generally ‘make do’ voting either Republican or Democrat because voting any other way is a waste; the Independents are too few and far between to get enough votes to win an election.
Or so are we collectively taught to believe.
It isn’t true. The truth is, we see the problems and we have ideas on how those problems can be fixed, or at least an idea of where to start. The truth is, we are many, and we are fierce, and we have a firm belief that the American people deserve better.
There IS more out there for us, so long as we have the knowledge, the courage, and the leadership to fight for it.
We all have some sort of idea about the kind of change we want to see in our world, be that a change within ourselves, our family lives, our communities, or our country.
But not all of us have the tools to navigate towards or through that change.
Enter Untamed, a book written by acclaimed best-selling author Glennon Doyle. It’s a story of change, of beginning and ending, a story of bravery and love and honor to oneself and what kind of change that introspection can lead to.
It brings to light a message that everyone, not just women (though they are the target audience for the book) can learn from and absorb.
We know what you are thinking — isn’t this a political candidate website? Isn’t this the News page, and shouldn’t we be talking about current political issues—what place is there in the political world for a self-improvement motivational memoir?
Well, it is our hope that highlighting this book will inspire Americans to journey through Untamed, and that that journey will empower you to act.
To challenge the status quo. To rip out the antiquated, dried-out roots of our political system. To overturn corruption and untruth and enact fundamental changes to our government processes that will allow us to rebuild our nation in our own image, and not the image that an unjust political construct says we should want.
What kind of change would you like to see if there were no limitations? Close your eyes and imagine the kind of country you want to live in, or that you want your children to live in. Imagine your families, your communities, imagine their potential.
What do you want to honor? What do you want to challenge?
Now open your eyes. Can you still see it? We can. None of that is out of reach. As impossible as those in power want you to believe it is, it is NOT out of reach for you or for us or for the people that we love.
If it seems that way, if it feels too grand or too extreme or too radical, please, our American friends, give yourself the gift of reading this book. Let it challenge you. Let it dare you. Let it inspire and empower you and fill you with fire. Then use that fire to stand with us and enact the kind of change we wish to see in this country.
Don’t let them tame you into thinking it can’t be done.
